Learn the systems that make elevators, escalators and moving walkways work. Build skills to install, maintain and service elevating devices in accordance with regulations and safety practices.

Program Highlights
The Mechanical Technician – Elevating Devices diploma program covers all three levels of in-class apprenticeship curriculum for students who may be looking to complete their apprenticeship. The diploma program focuses primarily on:

  • Installation, maintenance and servicing elevating devices
  • Regulatory and industry best practices
  • Build an understanding of elevating device electrical, mechanical and hydraulics systems
  • Graduates of this integrated technician-apprenticeship program are exempt with the Ministry of Labour, Training and Skills Development, from all three levels of the in-school training portion of the Elevating Devices Mechanic apprenticeship program (636E).  
  • Blended theory classes that are face-to-face and on-line.
