Program Overview

Nanotechnology is creating many new materials and devices with a vast range of applications, such as in electronics, biochemistry, medicine and energy production. Following investment by the Province, Alberta is fast becoming the Canadian hub for nanotechnology.
The Nanotechnology Systems Diploma Program - the first such diploma in Canada - will provide graduates with a knowledge of the many disciplines with emphasis on electronics, biochemistry and material science, and the skills to operate systems and equipment associated with Canada's emerging nanotechnology industry. The Program will provide a strong foundation of electronics, material science, instrumentation, chemistry and biochemistry, supported by courses in communications, ethics and management.
