Apprentices are in great demand in a highly competitive global market that has to meet the challenges of today’s technology. Mohawk annually serves 2,400 apprenticeship students and is one of the largest trainers of apprentices in Ontario.

The Language and Culture Centre of Mohawk College is the perfect place for international students to meet and make new friends. It is there home away from home! Volunteering, social and cultural events are regular activities to dive into to learn the ropes of the college.

Admission Requirements

The following requirements must be fulfilled to get admitted to Mohawk College

International students are considered on case-by-case basis. There can be some additional requirements, depending on the program you are applying to.
Students are required to submit their original transcripts from their last attended academic institutions. If they are not in English, then submit the translated copies of the same along with the originals.
Should provide the certificate issued by the International Qualifications Assessment Service (IQAS) that compares educational credentials from other countries to educational standards in Canada.
Applicants must be 18 years old at the time of the beginning of the course.
You need to submit your English language proficiency test scores if you are coming from a non-English speaking country.

Please note:- If you are not a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident of Canada, you must obtain a valid study permit before you come to Canada.

Accomodation

On-Campus Housing: Student Residence housing is great for those who enjoy their independence as well as the benefits of communal living. Located on the Fennell campus, the residence features 170 fully furnished two-bedroom suites with basic cable TV and complimentary Wi-Fi. Students pay only for the 8-month academic year and avoid a 12-month lease

Off-Campus Housing: Students have numerous options of finding an accommodation off-campus in nearby areas. Students can have access to studio apartments, paying guest facilities, sharing apartment complexes and many more.

Homestay: Homestays are an integral system of housing for students. Students have the opportunity to avail homestay facilities as per their discretion and choices. Homestay hosts include single people, young couples with children and pets, and older couples. All homestay accommodations have been inspected, and all adults in the home have completed a required criminal reference check.

Student Support

Mohawk College offers its students a wide variety of student services that contribute largely in building their future. From the moment students arrive in Canada, the college provides all they could need to ensure a smooth transition into life in Hamilton. Mohawk offers an international square at each campus for arriving students at the start of each semester, where they will then be given an orientation to find their feet, concluding with optional social orientation events, run by the Mohawk Students’ Association (MSA).
