Nestled along the northeastern coast of Nova Scotia in a town called Antigonish St. Francis Xavier University is an undergraduate academic institution established in 1853. Often referred to as one of Canada’s oldest and finest universities St. Francis Xavier University has received highest ratings in Canada in Globe and Mail's annual University Report Card in key categories such as most satisfied students, quality of education, class sizes, campus atmosphere and career preparation.

For over 165 years, it has helped shape the world in which we live. It has efficiently produced a prime minister, provincial premiers, Rhodes scholars, scientists, community and business leaders. SFXU offers degrees in arts, science, business, education, and applied programs. It is renowned for delivering a highly personalized education, keeping class sizes small and ensuring students are taught by committed full-time professors, most with PhDs.

St Francis Xavier University is organized into the Faculty of Arts, Faculty of Science, the Gerald Schwartz School of Business, Faculty of Education, and Coady International Institute. Each faculty has subordinate departments under its administration appropriate to each discipline, for example the Department of Philosophy is part of the Faculty of Arts. Faculties are headed by a dean elected from among the constituent professors.

Admission Requirements

The following requirements must be fulfilled to get admitted to the St. Francis Xavier University

International students are considered on case-by-case basis. There can be some additional requirements, depending on the program you are applying to.
Students are required to submit their original transcripts from their last attended academic institutions. If they are not in English, then submit the translated copies of the same along with the originals.
Should provide the certificate issued by the International Qualifications Assessment Service (IQAS) that compares educational credentials from other countries to educational standards in Canada.
Applicants must be 18 years old at the time of the beginning of the course.
You need to submit your English language proficiency test scores if you are coming from a non-English speaking country.

Please note: If you are not a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident of Canada, you must obtain a valid study permit before you come to Canada.

On-Campus Housing: Starting in September 2018, SFX is proud to introduce Living Learning Communities (LLCs), a unique residence experience where you’ll live alongside peers who share your interest in a particular lifestyle or field of academic study. It provides its students with well-equipped residence on campus. It has a housing complex that holds single students as well as students with families. They college provides its students fully furnished apartments and there units for students As well as family housing units. The students have other options like dormitory as well. Every unit is furnished with a kitchenette with basic cooking applications as well.

Off-Campus Housing: SFXU also maintains an off campus housing facility as well as an apartment directory. Students can come on time and look for a room, apartment flats, studio apartment around the vicinity of the institution. The student associations at the university help students out with off campus accommodation and assist them with the process.

Homestay: Coming to a new country can be exciting, but also intimidating. The Homestay program partners you with a family, who will help you to adjust to your new city by offering advice and information on getting around. You may choose to stay with the family for the rest of your study period, or just until you find your own apartment. While in homestay, you will also have the advantage of being in an environment in which English is the primary language.

Eligibility
Scholarship eligibility is based on final marks for the five Grade 12 courses used to meet admission requirements for your program. Please note that final Grade 11 equivalent subject marks may be used in the interim to calculate the average. Open to all students.
