Overview

Established in the year 1967, Nipissing University is a public liberal arts university in Ontario. It offers programs related to subjects like Biology, Business Administration, English Studies, Criminal Justice, Economics, Liberal Science, Mathematics Fine Arts, Geography, History, Commerce, Computer Science, and Anthropology.

The university houses a Student Development and Services Office to give the students a variety of career planning services and counseling, including sessions, one-on-one counseling, and seminars and offers certain programs jointly with Canadore College as well.

The campus witnessed the organizing of multiple cultural events like theatrical performances, readings, art exhibits, and concerts throughout the year, along with a very active arts community at the university.

Besides the regular curriculum, the college also has multiple exchange agreements and opportunities with countries like India, South Korea, Sweden, United Kingdom, Australia, France, Germany, South Africa, the United States, Barbados, China, Ireland, Japan, Netherlands, Norway and Finland to provide the students with an all-round holistic growth.

Admission Requirements

The following requirements must be fulfilled to get admitted to the Nipissing University

International students are considered on case-by-case basis. There can be some additional requirements, depending on the program you are applying to.
Students are required to submit their original transcripts from their last attended academic institutions. If they are not in English, then submit the translated copies of the same along with the originals.
Should provide the certificate issued by the International Qualifications Assessment Service (IQAS) that compares educational credentials from other countries to educational standards in Canada.
Applicants must be 18 years old at the time of the beginning of the course.
You need to submit your English language proficiency test scores if you are coming from a non-English speaking country.

Please note: If you are not a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident of Canada, you must obtain a valid study permit before you come to Canada.

Accomodation

On Campus Housing: Nipissing University's residences have some of the best accommodations and award-winning programming in Canada. All rooms are private, and students who receive full-time admission directly from secondary school are guaranteed a single room in one of our suite-style apartment complexes with a shared kitchen, lounge, and bathrooms. It's easy to make fast friends within the Lakers community, and students, faculty and staff alike enjoy Canada's four seasons by taking advantage of city living, shopping, entertainment, cultural and recreational activities.

Off Campus Housing: There is a variety of housing available in the city of North Bay. The Off Campus Housing Office in the Residence Department offers online off-campus housing lists, maps of the city, and bus schedules, to assist in finding suitable accommodations.
