Founded in 1992, by owners Tamsin Plaxton and Mathew Collingwood, Tamwood runs three divisions and manages a sister company that together offers a range of educational, vacation, work, and travel programs, and other services and support to ensure you learn new skills. These programs help to expand existing abilities, discover talents you didn’t know you had, and forever transform yourself in wonderful ways you can barely imagine.

Toronto Campus at the University of Toronto

Campers attending the Tamwood Summer Camp at The University of Toronto do a variety of structured, cultural, recreational, social and sightseeing activities each week.
These activities, events and excursions can be grouped into four categories—Day Time (Creative, Sports, Teambuilding, or STEAM), Evening, Excursions, and Optional.

Campus Features

The University of Toronto Mississauga campus is located approximately 33 km west of Downtown Toronto and set upon the valley of the Credit River across a large, treed lot. It is the second-largest of the three University of Toronto campuses. In 2017 the U of T Mississauga proudly celebrated its 50th anniversary.
A themed campus tour is offered, which encourages to develop teambuilding, leadership, or STEAM skills.

Admission Requirements

The following requirements must be fulfilled to get admitted to Tamwood International College:

International students are considered on case-by-case basis. There can be some additional requirements, depending on the program you are applying to.
Students are required to submit their original transcripts from their last attended academic institutions. If they are not in English, then submit the translated copies of the same along with the originals.
Should provide the certificate issued by the International Qualifications Assessment Service (IQAS) that compares educational credentials from other countries to educational standards in Canada.
Applicants must be 18 years old at the time of the beginning of the course.
You need to submit your English language proficiency test scores if you are coming from a non-English speaking country.

Please note: If you are not a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident of Canada, you must obtain a valid study permit before you come to Canada.

Accomodation

Student Housing
Traveling to a foreign country for an extended period of time is already a big adventure. It is very important that after school you have a safe place to relax, to study, and recharge; where you feel comfortable and welcome.

Tamwood offers you various student housing options depending on your preferences and budget. We want to make sure that you arrive in Canada with a place to sleep off your jetlag and to start your Canada adventure well-rested and without the worry of finding a roof over your head!

Homestay
Your Home Away From Home! Enjoy a truly multicultural Canadian experience with homestay families coming from a variety of diverse backgrounds. Most students choose this option as it’s more convenient, cost-efficient, and safe, especially for those traveling to a foreign land where they don’t know anyone.

Our experienced Accommodation Manager carefully screens and selects friendly hosts who provide a safe and caring environment. Staying with a host will allow for intercultural exchanges and help you practice your English while learning about Canadian traditions and culture.

Other Accommodations
Tamwood offers non-homestay options such as hostels in Toronto, Whistler, or Vancouver and student residences in Toronto and Vancouver. All requests are handled on a case-by-case basis and are designed to meet each student’s needs.

Toronto Accommodations

Each room has 1 bed and comes with wifi, a computer desk, a dresser and closet. A full bathroom is shared between 2 rooms.
Security is provided around the clock by Tamwood live-in staff and campus security. Security key card entry to the building and to the student rooms.
Laundry service is provided once per week (included in the camp fee).

Note:- If you are interested to live in a student residence in Toronto or Vancouver, please let us know two months in advance to find the best place for you.
