The education system varies in countries across the world. Hence if you plan on taking a degree overseas, you will have to adhere to the rules and policies of the said country. When you apply for a degree in a country like the USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, UK, and numerous others, you have the option of choosing from a vast multitude to colleges, courses as well as intakes. These intakes happen almost thrice a year and provide students more opportunities to land their dream college, thereby landing their dream job.

Canada has some incredibly excellent facilities and policies for international students. It is precisely for the same reason that students from all over the world come to Canada to pursue their education and have a better life and career. Most universities and colleges abroad offer two intakes: fall and winter. However, specific colleges also provide admission in April and May, often known as Spring Intake. The Fall Intake begins around September; Winter Intake starts in January, followed by the minor Spring/Summer Intake.

The September Intake is the most preferred out of all the intakes, for it offers the maximum number of courses in the best colleges available. The Fall Intake is the preferable choice for Indian students looking for great career opportunities in Canada. Students must be meticulous and especially particular about the application process. Students must start their application process at least 10-12 months before the onset of the program. If the students wish to go for the fall semester, they must be ready with their scores by April, and in case a student wants to go in for the January Intake, he/she must have his scores latest by August.

To make the understanding of these intakes easy for the students, summarized below is the primary information about these intakes and how they work:

WINTER INTAKE:

Winter Intake is also referred to as the January Intake and extends from January till April. Often considered as an extension of the Fall Intake, the winter intake is usually utilized by students who fail it to make it in the Fall Intake and hence wish to go overseas well in time. This intake provides the student an entire year before him/her without waiting for over a year.

FALL INTAKE:

Commonly known as the September Intake, this is the most important of all intakes with the maximum number of students desiring over getting in during this time. This intake has the most significant amount of institutes that offer courses and continue from September to December. This intake helps students prepare themselves for the harsh winters to come as well as gives them a chance to be almost 4-5 months ahead of students going in for the January Intake.

SPRING INTAKE:

Spring Intake takes place between May till August and is the last preference for all students in terms of intakes. The spring intake does not offer a vast number of courses for the students. The final dates of application fall somewhere in February, and hence, students must choose their paths well in advance.

From the few years, Canada has become the top choice for international students from all over the world. In the last three years, Canada has become increasingly hospitable towards Indian students, for they have taken up almost six times more the number of Indian students than they ever did. Along with right living conditions, ample work opportunities, top-notch state-of-the-art education facilities, and a supportive environment. It is precisely for all the reasons mentioned above that Canada has become the top contender in international education, and to apply for colleges, you must be thorough with the intake procedures and the courses available in each intake.
